10 DAYS NDOTO MOUNTAINS, LAKE TURKANA, CHALBI DESERT AND SAMBURU

Kenya’s northern circuit still attracts little numbers of tourists despite its magical and unique attractions; culture and unique beautiful landscapes.

Lake Turkana, formerly known as Lake Rudolf, is the world's largest permanent desert lake and the world's largest alkaline lake. Its far northern end crosses into Ethiopia. The lake's 3 National Parks (Sibiloi, Central & south Island parks) are listed as UNESCO world heritage sites and serve as a stopover for migrant waterfowl and are major breeding grounds for the Nile crocodile. Located east of the famous Lake Turkana and spreading to the Ethiopian border, the magical Chalbi desert is one of the hottest and most arid places in Kenya. The desert is believed to have been a lake that dried up a thousand years ago therefore the name Chalbi, which means ‘bare and salty’ in the Gabbra (native community of this area) dialect.

11 Days Tanzania birthing season (hosted by Nikos Pocock)

Tanzania wildlife safaris have for generations remained a spectacle to behold, and  great wildlife viewing experiences despite which travel period you inted to visit. Apart from the annual wildlebeest migration which takes  place between July-October and passes through Serengeti and onto Kenya's Masai Mara.Late January to March is the wildebeest calving season in Tanzania's southern Serengeti area of Ndutu, which provides high excitement as lion and cheetah descend on the fragile and naive newborns. Although action-packed, these scenes are not for the faint of heart. The height of the wet season occurs in the months of March and April and causes the usually crowded Serengeti to empty, offering an intimate experience with the wildlife.

    MYSTICS OF THE MASAI MARA

We drove all the 280 kms from Nairobi to the Mara, a journey that took us about 3 hours. The road is absolutely beautiful. It was an excellent road trip for a party of 10. We got to the Maasai Mara, and got a tour guide assigned to us..

    THE ETHIOPIAN EXPEDITION

Ethiopia is known as the cradle of mankind. Ethiopians are warm and welcoming to travellers. We went to the Omo River and interacted with the native communities there. Their traditional dishes such as injera were quite the culinary experience..

The tropics have excellent weather. This is great since you can explore our corner of Africa at any season of the year. However, this environment is also conducive to bugs that can spread deadly diseases
