  • Day 01
    Day 01    Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

  • Day 02
    Day 02    Samburu

    Early Morning we drive to Samburu game reserve, which is approximately 350km from Nairobi, here we will meet some really beautiful people who are the Samburu tribe and a breath taking views of the mountains and savannah criss-crossed by seasonal rivers and one large seasonal river known as the Uwaso river which gather all life on its banks and dotted by Doum palm and acacia trees. We will arrive in time for lunch and we straight away head or the dining after check-in. Later when the sun has cooled, you will delve into a brief afternoon game drive.   • Day 03
    Day 03    Samburu

    Early morning game drive with late breakfast, then we shall pay a visit to one of the Samburu villages which is (optional and at an extra cost), or just relax and read and see the beautiful birdlife and sometimes the wildlife come to the banks for water.     Day 04    Samburu

    Samburu National Reserve has its own uniqueness and it would be injustice if you were only to spend two nights in such a splendid place that has more than enough to offer in terms of wildlife, culture and also birdlife. The Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George Adamson and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness made famous in the best-selling book and award winning movie “Born Free”. It is also the home of “Kamunyak”, a lioness famous for adopting oryx calves. Several species here are considered unique including arid animal wildlife.     Day 05    Samburu

    The Samburu National Reserve is an area of spectacular scenery; its dry plains bisected by the meandering river, with the backdrop of Africa's dramatic mountains, including Mt Kenya. It has a good number of lions and leopards and offers the opportunity to see many species endemic to northern Kenya. These days will be spent with morning and afternoon game drives since the area is semi-arid area and temperatures tend to be high for an effective game drive during day time.     Day 06    Samburu

It has a good number of lions and leopards and offers the opportunity to see many species endemic to northern Kenya.   • Day 07
    Day 07    Lake Nakuru

    We depart at 0700 hours to L. Nakuru National Park; we climb to a higher altitude driving past Solio ranch to Nyahururu which happens to be the highest town in Kenya at 2100m. We will stop at the Thomson Falls which was discovered by the Scottish geologist Thomson in 1861 when he was on an expedition to discover the Great Rift Valley. We proceed with our trip arriving in time for lunch later we go for an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is shallow soda lake which has been described as "an ornithologist’s paradise” and it is within the Great Rift Valley.   • Day 08
    Day 08    Lake Nakuru

    Early morning we leave for the park with packed lunch and spend the day game viewing. Used to be the home of at least a million flamingoes which covered the shores with their pink color but not anymore though it has a few that can be spotted and other highlights like the white Rhino which can be found here.   • Soft bags or rucksack, as storage space is limited [maximum 20kgs].

  • A pair of long trousers and jersey for the cool mornings and evenings in addition to plenty of light clothes for hot days a hat, swim suit, good walking and biking shoes.

  • Torch, sunglasses, suntan lotion, insect repellent/spray but not mosquito coils

  • Camera, films, Memory stick, binoculars, maps, guide-books

  • Toothbrush & paste

  • All personal travel insurance

  • Cameras for everyone are essential. Small binoculars for all are also a good idea. Everybody having their own binocularss, is good to cut down on squabbles.

  • In the event of change in the value of the Kenyan Shilling against the US dollar by more than 5% by way of devaluation or currency fluctuation, Africa Calling Safaris may at its discretion increase the specified rates proportionately by the amount of such devaluation with effect from the date of devaluation.

  • Africa Calling Safaris may at its discretion by not less than two months notice in writing to the client alter the specified rates as result of new publicized rates from suppliers (Hotels, parks).
