  • Day 5
    Day 5    Lake Manyara

Day 5: Lake Manyara Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only permanent lodge set in the remote southern region of the reserve, far from the park’s entrance gate. This means that game drives explore areas of the park that cannot be reached by day visitors and your game viewing is unlikely to be disturbed by vehicles from other lodges. Each morning and afternoon you will set off in the company of your guide for your game drives. Your guide will help you explore the many diverse habitats of the park, stopping on the lake shore to admire the different bird species and look for pink flamingo. Serengeti is perhaps most famous for the “Great Migration” – a breathtaking spectacle that features more than one million wildebeest, 500,000 Thompson’s gazelle and 200,000 zebra on the move. • Day 8
    Day 8    Serengeti Ndutu Area

The name Serengeti comes from the Masai word for ‘endless plains’, and nowhere is this term more deeply felt than in the Southern Serengeti. With its rolling, endless landscapes, occasional kopje (rocky outcrop) and noticeable lack of trees, it’s the perfect setting for uninterrupted wildlife viewing year round. We shall change camp and head to the southern part of Serengeti. There is no better time to be in the south like now. During the Great Migration from about December to March, the region is full of wildebeest, zebra, and predators, and is well known for the excitement the annual calving season brings. But, inevitably, the migration moves on in its never-ending pursuit of the rains, taking the vehicles, mobile camps and safari-clad tourists along with it. It is now that the Southern Serengeti takes on a very different, somewhat secret, personality. Accommodation on FB: Sanctuary Kusini
